    Treatment according to syndrome of stagnancy of liver-qi

    The main cause, in TCM, is the stagnancy of liver-qi.

    Clinical manifestations/Indications: Headache and dizziness, nervousness, distending pain in the breast, restlessness, depression, insomnia, distension in chests, mild edema, diarrhea, fatigue that can occur before or during menstruation.

    Therapeutic Principle: Nourishing and regulating the blood, and soothing the liver to disperse the depressed qi.

    Recipe 1: Modified Decoction of Four Ingredients and Easy Powder

    Main Ingredients: Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Radix, Bupleuri, Radix Ledebouriellae.

    The formula nourishes the liver, tranquilizes the mind, relives spasm, promotes blood circulation, and regulates menstruation.

    Recipe 2: Modified Bupleurum Powder for Relieving Liver-qi

    Main Ingredients: Radix Bupleuri, Radix Curcumae, Fructus Meliae Toosendan, Fructus Aurantii, Flos Rose Rugosae.

    The formula works in line with Modified Decoction of Four Ingredients and Easy Powder but it is stronger in removing obstruction in the channels that causes qi stagnancy.
